I tried to dig my fingernail into the paint [on the backside, of course] and there was no give at all. My guess is that these were done in and automobile body shop and a really good one that's set up for this. The colors are all correct, everything! And it's the fact that paint technology has advanced so much over the past 93 years that I suspect [and I think I'm correct on this] that it will be MORE durable than 1927 paint technology. So if you have a 1927 Model T, Oldsmobile, Duesenberg or whatever else you only have a limited amount of choices in California for the license plate on your car. The red on white "Historical Vehicle" license plate that looks more like a sign on a wall than a license plate at least acknowledges the fact that you have something special. But most people aren't idiots so you don't need a license plate to specifically delineate that. Then there's the 1960's retro plate. Yea, that's certainly better. At least it looks good! And that's why you see a lot of those around. Who can blame all those people for wanting a good-looking license plate on their car. Then there's this incredible pair of plates that you can win now.

It's that added touch that says everything about your car, about you and about the way it really was when your car was on the road back in the roaring'20s! For almost 100% of everyone on the street your car will be the very first time ever that they ever saw this license plate on a classic car.

It's likely it'll be the last time they'll have that rare experience as well. It's a true head turner which will most certainly be a topic of discussion for a long time after their encounter.

The front side of a plate may more likely than not be directly beneath a seam. So it would be unwise to cut tape by running a sharp object through the seam if you can't see the orientation of the plate within the package. RULE OF THUMB: If you are winning license plates you can figure that 2 steel plates equals 1 lb. And 3 aluminum plates equals 1 lb. I also need about 1/2 lb.
